Nikk1FM, our director at WIDE Radio’s (figurative) HQ, has been traveling around Latin America and Europe for quite a while with no plans to settle down. Since her youth, she took an interest for hosting radio shows and DJing, taking her first steps on this medium before leaving Venezuela at 2014. On her fantastic adventures through the capitalist apparatus, she became acquainted with the world of internet radio – all the good things of AM and FM transistors tightly packed in fiber-optics and the Wi-fi from the bus and the office – which lead her to found our tiny but scrumptious station.

 

Even though her hair’s shifted from blue to black, she remains a Riot Grrrl in the depths of her heart. She has just landed from a hop-around through 4 countries in less than 24 hours and continues without a set travel schedule, living life and throwing parties between Venezuela, Chile and the UK. This has presented her with exceptional opportunities to breathe into different cultures, aesthetics and musical roots which have a great influence on her musical collection. She’s definitely an R&B Lover, nevertheless her radio show has also room for Grime, Hip-hop, experimental Electronica and Pop music.
