Wednesday 6pm UK

Von-Melt‘s sounds: atmospheres pumping with vitality, melodies circling around like mantras inviting us to close our eyes and submerge in the rhythm.

Oceanic textures, silken, anesthetic or with the smooth, compact solidity of an obsidian ingot, a Chilean label dedicated to the most pure, abstract and meditative forms of techno and experimental electronica, with an extensive repertoire of tracks that pulse with a four-on-the-floor kick drum and every set of snare and hi-hats known to man.

And synthesizers, the protagonic members of this ensemble: rabid oscillators with sawed teeth, metallic tones of FM and every creature that emerges from the additive, subtractive and granular sound synthesis methods.

The label has come and gone about every highway and byway of current-day electronica: they’ve had moments of young classics like dubstep, future garage and some incursions towards the hypnagogic pop territories. Traversed by the atmospheres of ambient, their repertoire shows a strong inclination towards all kinds of genre fusion, tilting towards IDM and Breakbeat.

Von-Melt podcast RAZA

RAZA and the founders of the Von Melt label

RAZA is a segment conceived by the label’s dounders, Tomás Fernandes, Vladimir Gallardo, and Joaquín Campos Mallol – a.k.a. Masot Quijada, VLDSN andtripgarden – as a way to appeal to those who enjoy these genres.

Building upon a tight bond of friendship and the reach of their combined music libraries, they engage in a conversation about the sonic territory on which they’ve set their keep. The motives and textures that substantiate their compositions; the gear, production techniques and other less visible parts of the creative process, or their influences and highlighted tracks on their DJ sets.

To listen to Von-Melt’s latest productions and get acquainted with the House and Techno sounds of Santiago de Chile. Tune in to RAZA monthly, at 6pm UK here on WIDE Radio.
