Beisho Beisho Beisho is our guest mix # 0016 originally from Madrid but currently living in Berlin, she shares her proposal of chilangas (MX) and Brazilian influences, a combination that fits perfectly with her true passion for perreo and reggaeton with which she grew up in the Spanish capital.

She tells us:

“I love to play perreo to show the restrictions and limitations that we put on our body to begin with, and also because for me there is no question that [perreo] it is a dance [like many others] that fights, resists, and is powerful.”

A lot of Tego, the queen (Ivy) and other references to salsa artists of all time plays in the background while Beisho and her friends eat fruit and feel free to shake dat ass. An open invitation to re-explore Caribbean and Afro-diasporic music, which has always been a reference for social resistance, a struggle and battle that never stops.
