From the centre of the world, literally, we present our guest mix # 0021: j0ya. Dj and producer currently pushing an innovative club night scene in her home country, Ecuador. Her futuristic looks along with her mixes of experimental Latin music and reggaeton hits, guarantee euphoric perreo on the dancefloor.

j0ya is also the co-founder of the Sinvergüenza party, a celebration that revolutionizes heteronormative thinking and musical concepts in Quito’s underground scene. It is a political space that has become a platform for both local and international artists, musicians and performers who seek to achieve a big impact on today’s Latinx culture.

With just a year and a half of experience in music, j0ya mixes create a progressive blend of genres ranging from ambient mixed with reggaeton and moombahton with hard techno.

Currently j0ya is working and collaborating with other artists in her first EP of sound landscapes of a post-apocalyptic Abya-Yala. Although she is often underestimated for her beauty, her skills and strengths on stage always prove otherwise.
