5 Latin American club music labels you should know about in 2019
We introduce you to some of the netlabels that promote Latin American artists redefining club music and that are perhaps being unnoticed. The lack of spaces and resources from both political and social chaos seems to be a boot pushing down the chest to prevent new art and music projects to raise in the region, and even so, these independent digital record labels are showing the postcolonial sound of club music. Meet the 5 Latin American club music labels that you should know about.
DNTFCK (CDMX)
From Mexico City we present the DNTFCK netlabel, created by Kevin Castro (Zurvolt) and César Ch (corrupted4ta) originally conceived in 2015. Since then they released their first compilation titled ‘DNTFCK Vol. 1′ in 2017, and have been working actively to release the music from local and international club / experimental producers but preferably without putting a genre on their foreheads.
“Even if most of our catalog is indeed club music, and we have a lot of influences that feed our inspirations, we don’t really care about following a certain trend or having a given style, we care about the way the music can connect with us, and we try to showcase that feeling the best we can. Don’t fuck, just listen. ” They told in an interview to the Italian media Paynomindtous.
DNTFCK has been the home of different Latin American artists including Abssys (ex-Rizoma), Deeven, Syntrovert, Lil Crack, Zurvolt with their debut material and more recently the Venezuelan OCTUBRXLIBRV.

AGVA (Buenos Aires)
From Buenos Aires, Argentina we tune in to AGVA RCRDS, a netlabel and artists collective. Recently we invited one of its most active members, El Plvybxy to one of our guest mixes, who, like the digital label, represents the new generation of South American producers promoting and pushing local club music scenes, and in turn nurturing local producers to be inspired by an authentic Latin American context (as opposed to the western “Latin/World music sounds).
Among some of the works they released in 2019 are INFRALUZ an album produced by Rattlesnakke and El Plvybxy, MODE AVION from O.L.I.V.I.A and IRALA by Sückie.

Hypersonics (CDMX)
The netlabel from Mexico City (CDMX), Hypersonics, was born in April 2018 and they describe themselves with three key points: underground music, Club & Internet Culture and Digital Art & Music Design.
Their first compilation entitled “Albedrío” is starred by different producers making their way in the Mexican underground scene, including: El irreal veintiuno, Abssys y Blasta Masta. In just one year, Hypersonics has launched 5 compilations, conquered a space in the community radio station Radio Nopal (Bajo Señal) and made events to boost the local scene with international guests like Merca Bae.
There is no more honest recommendation from the heart, than to invite you to listen to their discography, and send them not only love but MXN to support the growth of this project.
T.A.U (México)
At the beginning of 2018 we saw coming to life the debut compilation released by T.A.U, the Mexican netlabel that was born with the purpose of promoting local and independent music. Launching collections embodied by artists such as Pseudo, Siete Catorce, Conejx, Hamvre, No Boy, and many others who have repeatedly been on the tracklists of our guest mixes.
Although in 2019 they did not launch a successive compilation to ‘T.A.U Vol. 3′, this label put out new music from producers such as Argentina’s Chanty OTM that we had as a recent guest (check out her mix here).
This only gets better 😈
ADED Files (Monterrey)
The Monterrey netlabel, ADED Files, short for All Day Every Day, was founded by Daniel Aguirre also known under the alias: Chromosav.
In 2018 they made their debut through the album titled ‘Illegal Breath’ by Regal86 and subsequently releasing three other productions from Loprofile, Kylo and Wildkatz respectively.
The curation of ADED Files is not singled out by club music but subtly narrows down to lo-fi, hip hop, and juke sounds. Although Chromosav announced the possible end of his role as a DJ and producer with the release of Cristiana Sepultura, we hope he changes his mind.
