Sin Sync Djs, 13th February w/ Rivers Z

We welcome Sin Sync from Barcelona, Spain to our resident podcasts w/ Rivers Z. A project articulated as a non-binary and female-fronted DJ workshop that seeks to share basic principles to learn how to mix, proposing from an alternative pedagogical space with notions of technology / technique built from hegemonic masculinities.

For the premiere of the first episode of this podcast, we introduce Rivers Z with a mix titled “NI LOS MALOS SOIS TAN MALOS NI LOS BUENOS SOMOS TAN BUENOS.” This alias is the darkest and most danceable version of Barcelona’s sound artist, producer and DJ. Its two cores are classic and deconstructed reggaeton, taking breakcore and ambient elements to sculpt suggestive, sexy and often introspective beats. Under the self-associated label of “Perreo Oscuro” he has worked with artists from the Barcelona scene such as TTRRAACCAA and El Ultimo Romántico. His DJ set primates the perreo classics enshrined in the hazy aura that characterizes him.
