Under this pseudonym, the artist settled in Geneva since 2009, explores the worlds that made her – El Salvador, where she was born – and the one who arounds her – the urban, multi-identity and inclusive Europe.

Anita Kippis use various forms of expression such as contemporary jewelry design, experimental and documentary videos, and her more recent project music research (DJ-ing and podcasts). With her underground, unabashed, hybrid and decolonial musical world, the Geneva DJ-xtte ANITA KIRPPIS translates her eurolatin heritage in the present and contributes to the renewal of alternative club music.

Her mixes bring together warm and dream-like melodies, generating glitter, emotion and sweat, but most of all, a collective transe. By joyfully mixing afrolatin sounds and beats with techno, EDM and dembow ANITA KIRPPIS puts afrolatin music back on the underground radar, historically dismissive or ignorant of it.

ANITA KIRPPIS not only does she deconstruct and create dialogs between traditional and contemporary sounds, ANITA KIRPPIS reclaims her pop influences and adds some reggeaton to the mix : she thereby produces a unique yet strangely comforting, deep and joyful sound. She’s the founder of SANTERIA FUEGO CLUB parties which promote the underground latin musical scene in Geneva by reclaiming, in an inclusive manner, the genre’s musics and legacies. The parties successfully, freely and diversely bring together local and international DJ·xette·s.

Since 2017, ANITA KIRPPIS lightly disrupts the over-used categories of « here » and « there » with her mixes and events where she creates a self-possessed and mosaic-toned version of party-making. As a frontier-based ambassador, she decolonised underground scene, afro-latin music in all its past, present and future richness.
