La Niña Jacarandá’s first EP “Clasiqueo Club Pack” is now released

October 14th, La Niña Jacarandá presented her first EP, under the title Clasiqueo Club Pack; consisting of 3 songs ranging from edits, bootleg, vocals and production work, La Niña reinterprets late 90s and early 00s staples, like Madonna’s ‘Music’ or ‘Tren Al Sur’ from Los Prisioneros, for the contemporary club.

La Niña Jacarandá is also known as Isamit Morales, a visual artist from Chile/Venezuela, DJ and founder of her own Djing school for girls and allies, Sin Sync, which has been cultivating a safe space as well as an artists and DJs community inside and around Sala VOL in Barcelona.

Clasiqueo Club Pack traces a nonlinear journey across memories up to the present. It moves within elongated beats, down and deep, especially for the cover of ‘Tren Al Sur’ (1990), originally by the chilean band Los Prisioneros.

“Tren Al Sur is not only a song that connects profoundly with parts of my family memory, it is a title that seeks to focus our gaze towards the many souths, both geographically and bodywise, in order to decentralize and make them dance. It is the track where I started to think about recording my own voices, melodies and “perreo” sounds to music. Thanks to a fruitful collaboration with Phran, I was able to record clear vocals and mix it properly, as well as reaching a pristine master by Juan Ribes. Taking this piece with the rigour it deserved, allowed me to realize that I already counted with enough material to share and quite casually that brought this project to life.”

Clasiqueo Club Pack was released particularly on the 14th of October as remembrance and to raise awareness about the protests that took place in Chile exactly one year ago in 2019, an utterly necessary social uprising.
