Lukrø releases the official video for his MX 2k18 Tour

One of the founding members of Lima’s own footwork label, Matraca, and a long time collaborator of WIDE Radio, Lukrø, just released a video showing his account of his Mexico tour around March, strengthening his bonds with Latin America’s biggest footwork and juke communities and forming quite few new ones.

Thanks to the support of local, talented producers like MaFuego, Sonido Berzerk and Juke Dealer, what begun as a whim became quite the little big adventure, taking him in circles from CDMX to Xalapa, Heroica Veracruz, Puebla and Tlaxcala, where he was overwhelmed by the warm reception of the local clubbers and a notable bloating of his list of contacts and homies.

On his first week in CDMX he took the stages of Pan y Circo and Frida la Suavecita, accompanied by resident DJ and founder of Sonido Inconsciente CDVR and joined by Juke Dealer, 1OO1O, MonkeyJunkieFunky and Aladar on the latter, nights that he may only describe as a blabbering mirage of wax and mezcal. Once he set foot in Xalapa, it was time to team up with his long time partner MaFuego and Beastie C for a show in El Submarino with Chendraui – an amazing band, on his own account. This was followed by a party hosted by DJ Quesadilla, who produced quite a few collabs with Lukrø before dropping him at Robot Samurai’s for another event in the company of various members of the Futurable crew.

He then hit Veracruz escorted by DeepLinkin and Juke Dealer, resulting in the spontaneous formation of the “PlayJuke Stream”, transmitting from the house of local producer Hai フカ in collaboration with the TenToesTurbo fams and joined by CLTA, Quesadilla and Redboy from Xalapa. After about a week of creating new tracks with new friends, it was the turn for Puebla’s local label, UnderBass, to extend him an invite to its own version of apotheosis, which featured presentations by local artists Kenistah and Annia & Ruido with the support of DJ Chedrawi and DeepLinkin. Finally, he went along with J. Dealer to his hometown, Tlaxcala, ending his tour with a more intimate session on Pachanga club.

Surprised at the warmth of the mexican audience and very enthused about working with such high profiling names of Mexico’s Juke scene, Lukrø has says that among his upcoming projects there’ll be a Split between Matraca and Futurable featuring Juke Dealer and various collabs with DeepLinkin, DJ Quesadilla, Redboy, Berzerk, CLTA, CDVR, Siete Catorce, Amazondotcom and Beastie C.

There’s also the upcoming release of his first official EP with the TenToesTurbo crew from Veracruz (featured in a couple of tracks from the video), new releases on Matraca and new Juke track with our Makinmovs homes in Chile.

The official video contains a selection of the tracks that were produce on his comings and goings in collaboration with Berzerk, Hai フカ and Ma Fuego. We’re hyped and expecting his next releases and maybe some more gigs in CDMX around November!
