From Colombia we feature a new edition of SHEMA, a podcast directed by DJ Melej, this time giving up the slot for an exclusive release by presenting “Neón”, the new album of Trópico Frío.

 

José Guevara (VE) is best known under the alias Trópico Frío, an electronic synth pop project. This began in 2018 as an evolution of this artist’s DJing to music production. In “Neón” we find a longing for the tropics, the Latin American element of the soap operas as well as urban contexts painted by the youth, pushing the beats to the limit of Hip Hop sounds.

 

Trópico Frío describes this album as “a trunk of bonanza fossils, analogous synthesizers, guitar laments macerated for years, warmth in drums and samples, romantic and street voice leads, as echoes of youth and fever.”
