WIDE Recomienda: #0028

If you wanna go trick-or-treatin’ on a muscle car with a shotgun. If you’d rather go clubbin’ and get the mood, like, REAL spooky for the DJ. Or if you just want to chill out to some fresh out of the ocean, still-shakin’-and-wigglin’ tunes, then… listen to WIDE Recommend and quit your goddamn whining!

1. Réelle – Tra (réelle edit)

Réelle is a Cuban-German producer that gravitates at tremendous speed towards the star cluster of psychotic drag electronica located at the quadrant where the Arca-Lotic-Yves Tumor constellation glitters with the force a thousand agonizing hetero-patriarchy death rattles and the heat of a vagillion dicks being stepped-on by high heels. If you’re looking for the inhospitable, weird and kinda ironically tropical, well, here’s a tasty little treat for you.

2. Sonido Berzerk – Elegua

A Soundcloud label reads “Afro Cuban Juke”, and the track delivers. Bring your rhodes piano chords to the frenetic party of digital hi-hats and sub-bass kick drums, add tobacco, allusions to the Yoruba deity of roads and destiny, chopped onions and samples of traditional drum music from the caribbean with their vocals recorded somewhere between the establishment of the spanish colonies and the 1980s. Bring it to a nice golden colour in a frying pan with coconut oil to a nice 140 BPM, and voilá! You’ve got yourself a totally fresh music genre!

3. R3LL – Coming Out Strong (R3LL & SBF Remix)

Newark producer R3LL has been building up momentum since 2014 as one of his city’s main representatives in the Jersey House scene scheme, becoming a thermometer of sorts for the entire genre with his collaboration in the #THREAD party collective and his Certified club nights. So if you wanna know how the Jersey Club scene be soundin’ these days, this’ the dude to check out.

4. 33EMYBW – Golem

We’re not all that sure on what to think about this one. An easy shot would be to go for the “abstract” or “minimal” in our bag of adjectives. It sounds like 33EMYBW is fishing for something outside your regular run-of-the-mill minor and major chords to build a collection of metallic daydreams. But if you know about SVBKVLT that probably didn’t catch you off-guard.

5. Odete x NKC x Massacooramaan – Venomous Wig Pain Anthem

ÇIRCA is a portuguese queer collective which definest itself as a “trans-aggressive niche that seeks to experiment with unconventional sound and unconventional identity”, with a hefty collection of tracks and some degree of presence in their local scene, surfing the kool-aid wave of identity politics. On this occasion, Odete, one of the collective’s (hydra-like) heads is joined by Fade to Mind’s Massacooramaan from and hard drum pusher NKC for a track with an eerie, energetic and dreamlike feel, sending a message that ÇIRCA be comin’ at ya!

6. Jasmine Infiniti – Methedemic(wip)

And speaking of queer-eerie (which makes us wonder if the next big genre is going to be something of the likes of Queerie), here’s one from New York’s techno and house queen Jasmine Infiniti, with a booming kick drum in a music hall submerged below 666 hexalitres of low-pass filter and a bassline riding an enraged square-wave LFO perfect for a halloween party on adrenochrome, Fear and Loathing style.
